Navajo-Churro wool rug - all fiber from our own sheep. Processed by hand here at Red Feather Ranch. This rug is plushy and the natural luster of the sheep shines through. This rug was made with white fiber from Cliffhanger and Cinch, and dark fiber from Escalade lamb fleece. 
 

We wash our raw wool exclusively with "Wash and Dye Bastard" shampoo from Namaste Farms. This cleans the wool without pulling out all the oils and stripping it of its natural luster. 
 

At Red Feather Ranch we use the wool from our sheep for weaving wraps, scarves, purses, and rugs.  Processing and using our fiber helps our breeding program because it allows us to get a better feel for what kind of fleece is best for handspinning.

The adult rams used this year are ROB Cliffhanger and Dot Escalade. We normally rotate rams out every two years. Dot Escalade is for sale after this season. RED Ivan is a promising yearling ram that we retained to watch him grow but is also for sale if someone is interested in him. He is a black triplet son of baw Miramar who is one of our milking ewes.

On 1/22/21 SDA Vanilla had a single ewe lamb sired by ROB Cliffhanger. Lamb is named RED Vanilla Bean. 
 

On 1/10/21 Madagascar Vanilla (Maddie) had a single ram lamb sired by Dot Escalade. Maddie is a SDA Vanilla/MLC Chance daughter.

On 1/4/21 RED Mesquite had twin ram lambs sired by Dot Escalade. Mesquite is the daughter of JB Avis, one of my best milkers. Like her dam, Mesquite also produces a lot of milk.

On 11/23/20 RED Mariannie had a single ewe lamb sired by Dot Escalade. The ewe lamb is named RED Lavender Latte.
